Keep an eye out for event “tags” that will tell you if the event is led by us at The Conservancy, one of our Partner-led events, or if it’s a Community-led event. Please keep in mind that we are not in control of community led events in the park, and anyone is welcome to share their event on our website pending approval from staff.

All levels are welcome to join. Please bring your own mat or towel, as those will not be provided, and be prepared with water, sunblock and anything you need to remain comfortable in the sun.

Open to volunteer groups, local organizations, and your average joes, Bi-weekly Volunteer Day Projects vary according to need, but include much-needed maintenance tasks such as removing invasive weeds, clearing harmful glass shards from soils, mulching tree pits and garden beds, cleaning debris from pathways, and more.
Black History And Culture Tour Of Fort Greene
Experience the Black History and Culture of Fort Greene Tour led by local historian, Suzanne Spellen. Working with Spellen and our Tour Advisory Committee, we develop and refine the route and educational content to help retell Fort Greene’s deep roots in Black history and culture for a personal, on-the-ground look at this important historical context.

America's 250th Anniversary Tour of Fort Greene
Join us on America’s 250th Anniversary Tour of Fort Greene, where you will have the opportunity to take a Walking Tour highlighting the rich, complex, and evolving legacy of Fort Greene Park. This tour will explore Fort Greene’s historical relationship to the American Revolutionary War, using monuments and storytelling to trace the significance of the Battle of Brooklyn, the founding of Fort Greene Park, and the legacy of prison ship martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the war.
Local historians, Natasha Fearon and Alexandra Stevens, will couple historical background with the park’s living memory to unravel how struggles over freedom and remembrance continue to shape Brooklyn today.

Young Naturalists is a youth-led program for kids ages 5-13 to share and grow their knowledge about the world around them using Fort Greene Park as their open lab.
