Keep an eye out for event “tags” that will tell you if the event is led by us at The Conservancy, one of our Partner-led events, or if it’s a Community-led event. Please keep in mind that we are not in control of community led events in the park, and anyone is welcome to share their event on our website pending approval from staff.

Kick-off Event: Step Up for the Park

Young Naturalists is a youth-led program for kids ages 5-13 to share and grow their knowledge about the world around them using Fort Greene Park as their open lab.
Sessions are free to attend! Simply meet the Youth Leader of the day, at the Visitors Center and enjoy a youth-led session.
The Wordsmith Showcase
Join us for a day of poetry performances, music, and expression. Hosted by Tanja Richardson and Keenan Watson, The Wordsmith will showcase featured poets. Writers of all ages are welcome to participate in an open mic.

Offered in two installments, The Heart of Black Fort Greene: Fulton Street tour, and Fort Greene Black History Makers and Cultural Giants tour provide rich context and history ranging from the 1800s to today.

Living Well, Living Strong: Free Health Fest and Fun Beats
It's the health event of the year for the community as Brooklyn Community Board 2 brings you "Living Well, Living Strong, Free Health Fest and Fun Beats! Get your services, get tested, and get ready for a fun day in the park! There will be music, free healthy food, a prostate screening truck (free PSA blood test!, not invasive), a DJ, medical professionals on site with practical services, blood pressure testing, a panel discussion on maternal health, kids' activities, and so much more!

In honor of National Poetry Month, we invite you to join us for an afternoon to celebrate poetry. Poetry in the Park is an opportunity to participate in a poetry workshop led by Najee Omar, be part of a supportive environment during our Open Mic session, and enjoy poetry performances by featured artists.

Mulchfest
Join NYC Parks in the holiday tradition of recycling your Christmas tree. We’ll chip your tree into wood chips to nourish trees and make NYC even greener. Drop off your tree at the Myrtle Ave and Washington Park entrance during park hours (6:00am–1:00am) between December 26 and January 11.

Historic New York: Downtown Brooklyn and Brooklyn Bridge History
Join the Urban Park Rangers in a history tour of Downtown Brooklyn. Rangers will lead from Fort Greene to the entrance of the Brooklyn Bridge, explaining early Brooklyn life and the fascinating story behind New York's most iconic bridge.
