Join us for a 2-hour visible mending workshop (followed by a 30-min after-class tea time) hosted by slow fashion designer and textile artist Joy Mao, where you will learn foundational knowledge and skills to breathe new life into garments that transform with a little creativity and TLC. The workshop will cover the basics of fiber and fabric, along with a few key stitches for visible mending, and will take place outdoors in Fort Greene Park. Join us on the South Monument Lawn from 10:30AM-1:00PM on August 1 (rain date: August 2).
RSVP required. No prior skills necessary! Please bring a refillable water bottle, a blanket, a mat, snacks, or sunscreen to help you stay comfortable throughout the workshop. We will provide sewing supplies, but feel free to bring your own materials or a current mending project.
