Committing to a slow and sustainable lifestyle isn’t easy work. Our new 'Slow Skills to Sustain You' is a series of workshops designed to help you move closer to your goal of living more intentionally by slowing down the pace of life and appreciating the present moment.
This series is open to adults who are interested in learning skills that support mindfulness and sustainability while engaging in creative exploration alongside new friends and neighbors. Working together with NYC Parks, community partners, local artists, and our thoughtful Program and Engagement Committee, this series provides a nurturing environment to connect with nature and neighbors while learning new skills that encourage slowing down.
With the guidance of local artists dedicated to sustainability, participants will engage in on-site learning of slow living through creative practices. Participants will build foundational skill sets such as hand-sewing, visible mending, repair work, upcycling fabric, and repurposing everyday textiles.
