As part of The Joy of Play, Suzanne Spellen and Councilmember Crystal Hudson are hosting a special Juneteenth edition of Fort Greene Park Conservancy's Black History Walking Tour of Fort Greene to The Lay Out.
From Lil' Kim's apartment to Spike Lee’s former HQ, the Paul Robeson Theater, and the stories still tucked into the blocks around us, this walk traces the history that shaped the neighborhood we gather in today. Take a walk, we’ll be in the park when you get back.
Our June tour date is at capacity. Stay tuned for future tour dates this fall!
The Black History and Culture Tour of Fort Greene is an initiative of the Fort Greene Park Conservancy and Myrtle Avenue BID developed in partnership with BlackSpace, the Future Historical Society at BRIC, MoCADA, and the Weeksville Heritage Center.
