Keep an eye out for event “tags” that will tell you if the event is led by us at The Conservancy, one of our Partner-led events, or if it’s a Community-led event. Please keep in mind that we are not in control of community led events in the park, and anyone is welcome to share their event on our website pending approval from staff.

The Wordsmith Showcase
Join us for a day of poetry performances, music, and expression. Hosted by Tanja Richardson and Keenan Watson, The Wordsmith will feature poets: Phystartah, Story Teller Gordon, and headliner: Derick Cross. Writers of all ages are welcome to participate in an open mic. The Remedy NYC will create a musical vibe for all to enjoy.

Chinese and Spanish Language Film Series: July Rhapsody
Join us on the Myrtle Lawn for our free Chinese and Spanish Language Film Series, which showcases a Spanish or Chinese language film for Fort Greene’s Spanish and Taishanese-speaking residents to enjoy. Seating is first come, first served.
Archery: Magnetic Archery
Learn the art of archery with free lessons taught by our expert Urban Park Rangers. This program uses safe equipment with magnetic arrows and targets. All equipment will be provided.

Black History And Culture Tour Of Fort Greene
On the third Saturday of each month, from April - June, join us in person for the Black History and Culture of Fort Greene guided tour with Suzanne Spellen. Offered in two installments, The Heart of Black Fort Greene: Fulton Street tour, and Fort Greene Black History Makers and Cultural Giants tour provide rich context and history ranging from the 1800s to today.
Meet us for this free event at the Fort Greene Park entrance at the corner of Dekalb Avenue and Washington Park.
Clinton Hill Fort Greene Mutual Aid’s People Power Picnic
Join your neighbor’s for CHFGMA’s first annual People Power Picnic at the monument. Featuring home-cooked food and hometown (and world famous) DJs — Saint James Joy of the pandemic’s hottest block party and Cheo Pardo, a Grammy-winning Latin Artist. Everyone is welcome. Pay what you wish.

Film Screening: Little Miss Sunshine
Join us on the Myrtle Lawn for a free screening of Little Miss Sunshine. Arkin star in this star-studded instant indie classic about the Hoovers, a mismatched family who pile into their VW Bus to embark on a highly eventful cross-country trip, determined to get their young daughter into the finals of a beauty pageant. Presented as part of Searchlight Pictures 30th Anniversary Celebration.

Film Screening: The Night Visitors
Join us on the Myrtle Lawn for a free screening of The Night Visitors. The Night Visitors is an experimental documentary that closely examines moths as organisms, as aesthetic beings, and as carriers of meaning. Screening presented as part of the Alfred P. Poetry in the Park is an opportunity to participate in a poetry workshop led by Najee Omar, listen to featured readings from poets Jennifer Falú, Joselia Rebekah Hughes, and Liz Chestang and be a part of a supportive and welcoming environment during our Open Mic session, open to all who wish to share.
