If you cannot access the internet or prefer not to apply online, you may obtain a paper copy of the Special Event Permit application and apply at the Brooklyn Borough Permit Office at Litchfield Villa, 95 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY 11215 between 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. If you plan on having amplified sound (e.g., DJ, speakers, microphones) at your event, you will need an Amplified Sound Permit.
You must first get your Special Events Permit, including permission from NYC Parks to use amplified sound, before you can apply for an Amplified Sound Permit with the NYPD.
NYPD requests that you file your Amplified Sound Permit application at least five days before the event.
The Amplified Sound Permit costs $45.
Once you receive permission from NYC Parks to use amplified sound and get your Special Events Permit, please fill out the NYPD's Sound Permit Applicationand bring the application in-person to the 88th Precinct office at 298 Classon Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11205. How to apply for a Temporary Use Authorization Permit
If you wish to sell food, beverages, or merchandise at your special event, or to charge vendors a fee to participate in the event, you may need a Temporary Use Authorization Permit. Your Special Event Permit will note whether you have to obtain a Temporary Use Authorization Permit, or a Parks Special Events Coordinator may advise you that your event will require the Temporary Use Authorization Permit.
Fees for a Temporary Use Authorization Permit is calculated based on the nature and size of the event's revenue generating activities.
