Family Day - Saturday, July 16, 2005
David Gould and Bootleg Remedy (names of other performers) with their endearing mix of strings, washboards and Dixieland are a Brooklyn favorite. On “Cutting Time” a recent CD critics credit Bootleg Remedy with finding the “crossroad where Louis Armstrong and Bill Monroe meet.” Viewed by many as one of the greatest contemporary Dixieland revivalists, their work can perhaps best be described as a mixing pot of country, jazz, blues and Western swing and can be enjoyed by the entire family.
Brooklyn painters and arts educators, Sayeeda Banks and Derrick Cross will share their painterly approach to face painting for the enjoyment of children and parents.
A cooking demonstration, using some Greenmarket favorites rounds out Family Day.
